Struck during the mid-century era, the 1954 Roosevelt Dime represents a classic moment in United States coinage. This particular specimen is a Gem Proof, a designation that highlights the sharp details and mirror-like surfaces achieved through the specialized proof minting process. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse of the dime displays a left-facing portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his profile are the traditional American inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the date of 1954. Below the truncation of the neck, the designer's initials JS are visible. On the reverse, a symbolic trio of objects takes center stage. From left to right, the design features an olive branch, a lit torch, and an oak branch.
