1954-S Franklin Half Dollar MS-65 NGC

0.3575 troy oz .900 1954 MS-65 (NGC)

The 1954 half dollar from the San Francisco Mint brings together two powerful symbols of American heritage. Struck in 90% silver, this coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It has been certified in Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, preserving the crisp details of its mid-twentieth-century design. On the obverse, a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin captures the likeness of one of the nation's most famous founding figures. This side is framed by the word LIBERTY and the classic motto IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1954 date. The design was created by John R. Sinnock. The reverse features the historic Liberty Bell as its centerpiece, complete with its famous crack, flanked by a small eagle. Inscriptions surrounding the bell include the name of the issuing nation, the denomination, and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. A small 'S' mint mark above the bell denotes its origin from the San Francisco facility.
