In 1955, the Philadelphia Mint produced a striking half dollar that stands as a classic example of mid-century American coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, this particular coin has been certified in Proof 66 condition, highlighting the exceptional quality of its manufacture. Because it was struck in Philadelphia, the coin does not bear a mint mark, keeping its surfaces clean and focused entirely on the artistry. The obverse features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions of "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", alongside the 1955 date. This design was created by sculptor John R.
