Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the mid-twentieth century, this 1955 Washington quarter represents a superb example of United States proof coinage. Minted without a mint mark, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It has been certified in Proof 66 condition, highlighting its exceptional preservation and the sharp details characteristic of a carefully produced proof strike. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan. This familiar profile is accompanied by the word LIBERTY positioned above the bust, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST to the left, and the 1955 date below. On the reverse, a powerful eagle with outstretched wings dominates the design.
