In 1957, the Denver Mint produced a classic silver half dollar that captures a distinct era in American coinage. This particular specimen is certified in Mint State 64 condition, displaying the highly sought-after Full Bell Lines designation. This special status indicates that the horizontal lines on the lower portion of the Liberty Bell are exceptionally well-defined and complete, a rare characteristic for strike quality from this period. The obverse of the coin presents a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin, designed by John R. Sinnock. Accompanying his likeness are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1957 date. The silver piece is composed of 0.900 fine silver, containing exactly 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. On the reverse, the historic Liberty Bell takes center stage, flanked by a small eagle. The reverse design also features the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, the country name, and the half dollar denomination. A small letter D is positioned above the bell, marking its origin from the Denver manufacturing facility.
