1957 Franklin Half Dollar BU

0.3575 troy oz .900 1957 Brilliant Unc

The 1957 half dollar represents a classic mid-century moment in American coinage, struck in 90 percent silver and containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular issue originates from the Philadelphia Mint, which traditionally left its coins without a mint mark. On the obverse, a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin occupies the center. The legendary statesman and scientist is framed by the inscriptions of LIBERTY and the solemn phrase IN GOD WE TRUST, with the year 1957 positioned below his bust. The design was created by John R. Sinnock. Turning the coin over reveals the historic Liberty Bell as the central motif. Beside the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible. The reverse inscriptions declare the nation of origin, the denomination of HALF DOLLAR, and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, completing a design rich in national symbolism.
