This 1957 United States half dollar offers a striking look at mid twentieth century American coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin, one of the nation's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1957 date. On the reverse, the iconic Liberty Bell takes center stage. To the left of the bell, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is visible, while a small eagle sits to the right. The design is completed by inscriptions showing the country of origin at the top and the denomination of fifty cents at the bottom. This particular specimen has earned a Mint State 64 grade, further distinguished by the Full Bell Lines designation, which indicates an exceptionally crisp and complete strike on the horizontal lines of the Liberty Bell.
