Struck in Philadelphia during the modern era of United States coinage, the 1957 Franklin Half Dollar is a classic silver piece that showcases two powerful symbols of American heritage. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 65 (MS-65), indicating a high level of preservation with its original luster and details remarkably intact. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse of the half dollar features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the nation's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions of liberty and trust, along with the 1957 date of issue. Because this coin was minted at the Philadelphia facility, it does not bear a mint mark. On the reverse side, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack.
