Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the height of the mid-century era, this 1957 Franklin half dollar represents a beautiful marriage of American history and numismatic artistry. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. Prepared with special care as a proof strike, this particular specimen has been certified in Proof 66 condition, showcasing the sharp details and mirror-like surfaces characteristic of this high-quality minting process. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most revered founding figures. This portrait, created by designer John R. Sinnock, is accompanied by the classic inscriptions of liberty, the national motto of trust in God, and the 1957 year of issue. True to the traditions of the Philadelphia Mint for this era, the coin carries no mint mark. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, rendered with its famous crack clearly visible.
