1957 Franklin Half Dollar PR-67 PCGS

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this 1957 half dollar is a brilliant example of mid-century American coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, this particular specimen has achieved a remarkable certified grade of Proof 67. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, it does not display a mint mark. The obverse of the coin showcases a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the nation's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions of freedom and faith, including the word Liberty, the national motto of trust, and the 1957 year of manufacture. On the reverse, the design features the historic Liberty Bell as its centerpiece, complete with the traditional inscription of the denomination and the Latin phrase translating to out of many, one. To the side of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings completes the patriotic imagery on this beautifully preserved proof coin.
