The 1957 Roosevelt dime represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this ten-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 to 0.0723 troy ounces of the precious metal. Preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, the coin retains its original luster and sharp details just as it appeared when it first left the coining press over six decades ago. On the obverse, the coin displays a sharp left-facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the clear inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1957 date of manufacture. This design serves as a tribute to the president who led the nation through pivotal moments in the mid-twentieth century. The reverse of the dime features a carefully balanced arrangement of symbolic elements. Positioned from left to right are an olive branch, a lit torch, and an oak branch. Intertwined among these symbols is the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The outer rim is inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination, ONE DIME, completing a design that is both rich in detail and historical significance.
