This mid-century silver coin showcases one of the most distinctive pairings in American numismatic design. The obverse features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the nation's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions of freedom and faith, including the word LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1958 release year. The reverse of the coin is dedicated to the historic Liberty Bell, rendered in rich detail. To the right of the bell, a small eagle is visible, fulfilling a traditional design element. The reverse also features the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum and states the fifty-cent denomination. Struck at the Denver Mint, this piece bears the small D mint mark. It is composed of 90 percent silver, which equates to 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal.
