1958 Roosevelt Dime Gem Proof
The 1958 Roosevelt dime stands as a striking example of mid-twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90% silver, this dime contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. As a proof coin from the Philadelphia Mint, it was crafted with specialized care, resulting in a highly polished finish that highlights the sharp details of the design. In keeping with the tradition of the era, proof coins minted at the Philadelphia facility do not bear a mint mark. The obverse of the coin features a left-facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "1958". The reverse presents a symbolic trio of elements: a central lit torch flanked by an olive branch on the left and an oak branch on the right. These symbols represent liberty, peace, and strength. The reverse inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and the denomination "ONE DIME".
