This 1959 half dollar represents a classic mid-century American coin design, struck in Philadelphia without a mint mark. Composed of 0.900 fine silver containing 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition. It also bears the highly sought-after Full Bell Lines (FBL) designation, which indicates an exceptionally sharp and complete strike on the reverse details. Designed by John R. Sinnock, the obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous Founding Fathers. This portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1959 date. The reverse side showcases the iconic Liberty Bell as its central motif, rendered with enough detail to distinguish the horizontal lines across the bell's lower portion. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is depicted. The reverse is completed with the traditional inscriptions of E Pluribus Unum, the country of origin, and the face value of the denomination.
