Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1959, this mid-century silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, a high grade that highlights its preserved details. This particular specimen also carries the Full Bell Lines designation, indicating that the horizontal lines on the lower portion of the Liberty Bell are exceptionally sharp and complete. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions for liberty and the national motto, alongside the 1959 production year. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, this coin does not display a mint mark. On the reverse, the iconic Liberty Bell takes center stage, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, fulfilling the legal requirement to include the national bird.
