0.4823 troy oz .900 1959 Brilliant Unc

Struck in 1959, this Mexican gold coin represents a brilliant uncirculated example of mid-century numismatic artistry issued by the Banco de México. Containing 0.4823 troy ounces of pure gold with a fineness of 0.900, the coin is part of a historic series produced between 1917 and 1921, and later in 1959. The obverse features the national coat of arms, displaying a golden eagle perched upon a cactus while grasping a snake. The year 1959 is positioned directly beneath the eagle's wing. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national name, ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS. On the reverse, the coin showcases the highly detailed Aztec calendar stone, a masterpiece of ancient design. Surrounding this central motif are inscriptions detailing the denomination of 20 Pesos and the gold content, marked as 15 Gr. ORO PURO, indicating fifteen grams of pure gold.
