1960-D Franklin Half Dollar MS-64 NGC (FBL)
In 1960, the Denver Mint struck this ninety percent silver half dollar, which has survived in an exceptional state of preservation. Certified as Mint State 64, this particular coin features the coveted Full Bell Lines designation, indicating a strike of such high quality that the delicate horizontal lines on the reverse design remain completely defined and unbroken. The obverse presents a clean, right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of the most famous founding figures of the United States. The word LIBERTY arches above his portrait, while the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed below. The year 1960 is positioned directly to the right of Franklin's image, accompanied by the small D mint mark representing the Denver facility. On the reverse, the iconic Liberty Bell takes center stage, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle stands with wings spread, a design element required by law. The traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is clearly visible on the left, completing a classic mid-century American coin design rendered in 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal.
