This mid-century silver half dollar, minted in 1960, represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, as indicated by the D mint mark, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of silver. It has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64), preserving its original luster and details. The obverse displays a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1960 date. This design was created by John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central motif is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle is depicted, fulfilling the legal requirement for the denomination. The reverse inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the half dollar denomination.
