Struck at the Philadelphia mint in 1961, this silver half dollar represents a beautiful example of mid-twentieth-century American coinage. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It has been certified as a Proof 68 Cameo, a high grade that highlights the sharp contrast between the frosted details and the reflective fields of the coin's surfaces. The obverse features a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin, designed by John R. Sinnock. Surrounding the founding father's likeness are the inscriptions of LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the 1961 date.
