This mid-century silver half dollar, minted in Denver in 1962, offers a beautiful glimpse into American coinage history. Struck in 0.900 fine silver with a precious metal content of 0.3575 troy ounces, this piece has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving its original details and luster. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the 1962 date. This clean, dignified portrait was created by designer John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, rendered with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible, fulfilling the legal requirement of the era to include the national bird. The reverse also bears the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination. The Denver origin is marked by the small "D" located above the bell yoke.
