1962-D Roosevelt Dime BU
Semi-Numismatic
1962-D Roosevelt Dime BU
Struck at the Denver Mint in 1962, this ten cent piece represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Minted in 90% fine silver, the coin contains approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, retaining its original luster and sharp details just as it appeared when it first left the coining press. The obverse of the dime displays a left facing profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his portrait are the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 1962 issue date and the designer's initials, JS. The Denver mint mark, a small D, is also present on this side of the coin. On the reverse, three distinct symbols of American ideals are arranged from left to right. An olive branch representing peace stands on the left, a central torch symbolizes liberty, and an oak branch signifying strength rests on the right. Intertwined among these symbols is the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, while the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME frame the entire design.
