1962 Franklin Half Dollar MS-64 PCGS (FBL)

0.3575 troy oz .900 1962 MS-64 (PCGS)

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1962, this fifty-cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 condition, a high grade that highlights the preservation of its original luster. Designed by John R. Sinnock, the obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin. Surrounding this historic statesman are the inscriptions of liberty and trust, with the year 1962 positioned to his right. Because the coin was minted in Philadelphia, it bears no mint mark. The reverse displays the iconic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is depicted, while the traditional motto of unity appears on the left. This specific coin has earned the Full Bell Lines designation, meaning the horizontal lines near the bottom of the Liberty Bell are exceptionally sharp and complete, a detail highly prized by numismatists.
