Struck in Denver during the final year of its regular production run, this 1963 half dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, which equates to 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin has been certified in Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, preserving its original luster and sharp details. The obverse features a realistic, right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the fundamental national inscriptions of liberty and trust, alongside the 1963 date. This design, created by sculptor John R. Sinnock, broke with tradition by depicting a historical citizen rather than a symbolic figure of Liberty. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack. To the left of the bell, the traditional motto of national unity is inscribed, while a small eagle with outspread wings balances the design on the right. The denomination and the country of origin encircle the top and bottom borders, and the small 'D' mint mark indicates its origin at the Denver Mint.
