Struck at the Denver Mint in 1963, this ten-cent piece is a shining example of mid-twentieth-century American coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.0723 troy ounces of the precious metal. It represents the classic era of circulating United States silver coinage, preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition. The obverse of the dime showcases a profile portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Surrounding his likeness are the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the 1963 date and the small initials JS near the base of the neck. The Denver origin is marked by the D mint mark. On the reverse, a trio of powerful symbols stands in a row. A central lit torch represents liberty, flanked on the left by an olive branch symbolizing peace, and on the right by an oak branch representing strength and independence. The legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME encircle the design, while the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is woven through the background elements.
