1963 Franklin Half Dollar PR-66 PCGS

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1963, this mid-century half dollar is a brilliant example of United States coinage. Minted without a mint mark, this proof coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It has been certified in Proof 66 condition, showcasing the crisp details and mirror-like surfaces characteristic of the proof manufacturing process. The obverse of the coin features a right-facing profile of Benjamin Franklin, one of America's most famous founding figures. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the 1963 date of issue. This design was created by John R. Sinnock. On the reverse, the central focus is the historic Liberty Bell, rendered with fine detail. To the right of the bell, a small eagle with spread wings is visible. The reverse inscriptions present the denomination, HALF DOLLAR, along with the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the country name, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
