In 1964, the Philadelphia Mint produced a special run of proof half dollars to honor the late president, John F. Kennedy. Among these early strikes, a distinct variety emerged with more pronounced hair strands above the ear. This particular coin showcases that rare "Accented Hair" design, a fleeting aesthetic detail that was modified shortly after production began. Strikingly preserved, this specimen has been certified in an outstanding Proof 68 condition, highlighting the crispness of its initial design details. Struck in 90% silver, this fifty-cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal.
