In 1964, the Philadelphia Mint produced a run of proof coinage that marked the end of an era for circulating silver in the United States. This particular Roosevelt dime, struck with 90 percent silver content, contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Because it was manufactured specifically for collectors using polished dies and specially prepared planchets, it exhibits a brilliant, reflective finish that distinguishes it from standard pocket change. The obverse of the coin features the profile of Franklin D. Roosevelt, accompanied by the clear inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the date 1964. This specimen has been certified in an exceptional state of preservation, graded as Proof 67.
