This 1964 Roosevelt dime represents the final year of the traditional ninety percent silver composition for circulating United States dimes. Struck with a proof finish at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular coin has been graded in exceptional Proof 68 condition, indicating a nearly flawless strike with remarkable preservation of its original luster and detail. The obverse of the ten cent piece features the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, facing left. Because it was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, the coin does not bear a mint mark, a standard practice for the facility during this era. On the reverse, three symbolic elements are arranged from left to right: a branch from an olive tree, a central upright torch, and a branch from an oak tree. These symbols are surrounded by the traditional inscriptions of the United States of America, including the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the denomination ONE DIME.
