In 1965, the Lima Mint celebrated a monumental milestone: four hundred years since its founding. To honor this quadricentennial, a special gold coin was struck with a face value of 50 Soles. This issue bridges the modern era with Peru's colonial past, containing 0.6772 troy ounces of pure gold within its 0.900 fine composition. Only 17,000 of these pieces were minted, making them a fascinating subject for study.
