1967 Kennedy Half Dollar MS-67 Cameo NGC (SMS)

0.1479 troy oz .400 1967 MS-67 (NGC)

In 1967, the United States Mint produced a distinctive version of its classic fifty-cent piece. This year represents the third annual release of the Kennedy Half Dollar featuring a reduced silver content of 40 percent, containing exactly 0.1479 ounces of the precious metal. Strikingly preserved, this particular specimen has achieved a high grade of Mint State 67 with a Cameo designation, highlighting the sharp contrast between the frosted details and the reflective fields. The obverse of the coin presents a detailed portrait of President John F. Kennedy, designed by Gilroy Roberts. On the reverse, artist Frank Gasparro rendered a powerful heraldic eagle. The majestic bird is depicted holding a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, surrounded by the traditional inscriptions of the United States of America and the face value of the half dollar.
