0.3161 troy oz .400 BU &/or Proof

Struck in 40% silver, this dollar coin issued from 1971 to 1976 honors both a leader and a monumental human achievement. The obverse presents a left-facing profile of Dwight D. Eisenhower. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions LIBERTY and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the date and the 'S' mint mark of the San Francisco Mint positioned just below his neck. The reverse of the coin features a detailed adaptation of the Apollo XI mission insignia. It depicts an eagle carrying an olive branch as it flies above the surface of the moon. In the distance, a small Earth is visible, showing the outline of North America. Thirteen stars encircle the central design, which is framed by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination, ONE DOLLAR. Each coin contains 0.3161 troy ounces of pure silver, combining presidential history with the spirit of space exploration.
