1974 Roosevelt Dime BU

0.0000 troy oz 1974 Brilliant Unc

The 10 cent piece struck in 1974 offers a crisp look at one of America's longest-running coin designs. This particular issue, struck at the Philadelphia mint, is preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition, meaning its original luster and sharp details remain intact just as they were when it left the coining press. On the obverse, the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt faces left, accompanied by the bold inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The year 1974 is clearly struck below his chin. Because it was minted in Philadelphia during this era, the coin does not display a mint mark, which is a traditional characteristic of these Philadelphia issues. The reverse of the dime features a trio of symbolic elements arranged from left to right: an olive branch representing peace, a central lit torch symbolizing liberty, and an oak branch signifying strength and independence. The legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME frame the central design, along with the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, celebrating unity from many parts.
