1976 Kennedy Half Dollar BU

0.0000 troy oz 1976 Brilliant Unc

The 1976 Kennedy half dollar stands out as a memorable issue in United States coinage. Struck in a brilliant uncirculated finish, this fifty cent piece features a dual date of 1776 to 1976 on the obverse, marking a major national milestone. The obverse displays a detailed bust of President John F. Kennedy, a design created by Gilroy Roberts, paired with the familiar inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the double date. On the reverse, the coin features the classic heraldic eagle design by Frank Gasparro. The eagle is depicted grasping a cluster of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is also integrated into this side of the coin. This modern era coin has a specific metallic composition, consisting of an outer layer of copper and nickel bonded directly to an inner core made of pure copper. Minted in Philadelphia, this half dollar does not display a mint mark, which is characteristic of the facility's production for this issue.
