The obverse features a detailed portrait of President John F. Kennedy, designed by Gilroy Roberts, accompanied by the traditional national mottoes. On the reverse, instead of the standard presidential seal, the coin displays a detailed rendering of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, created by Seth Huntington.
