In 1979, Jamaica released a striking ten dollar silver coin to mark the International Year of the Child. Struck in proof quality, this piece contains 0.6676 troy ounces of actual silver content with a fineness of 0.925. It stands as a beautiful mid-century tribute to the potential and spirit of the world's youth. The reverse of the coin features a highly stylized design showing a child swinging a cricket bat at a ball, set against the geographical outline of the island of Jamaica.
