1979 Roosevelt Dime BU
The 1979 Roosevelt dime offers a fascinating look at modern American coinage. Struck in a copper-nickel composition, this ten-cent piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, capturing the sharp details of its original minting. Collectors and history enthusiasts alike can appreciate the crispness of the design elements on both sides of this small but significant coin. On the obverse, the profile of President Franklin D. Roosevelt faces left. Surrounding his portrait are the classic inscriptions of LIBERTY and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, along with the date of 1979. Because this coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it features no mint mark, which was the standard practice for the facility during this era. The reverse of the coin presents a rich array of symbolic imagery. From left to right, the design displays an olive branch, a lit torch, and an oak branch. These elements represent peace, liberty, and strength. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arches over the top, while the denomination ONE DIME is featured along the bottom, accompanied by the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
