1982 China 1/2 oz Gold Panda BU (Sealed)
In 1982, the Chinese Mint launched what would become one of the most celebrated bullion programs in the world. This half-ounce gold piece represents the very first year of issue for the beloved Panda series, carrying a face value of 50 Yuan. With a limited production of just 13,391 pieces, each coin contains a half ounce of 0.999 fine gold, backed by the financial guarantee of the People's Bank of China. This specimen remains preserved in its original plastic sealing from the mint. The obverse features the magnificent Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a landmark located within Beijing's historic Temple of Heaven complex. Surrounding this architectural marvel is the inscription for the People's Republic of China, alongside the 1982 date of manufacture. On the reverse, the design showcases a solitary giant panda sitting peacefully on the ground as it grasps a leafy bamboo branch. The purity is also noted on the coin, marked as 999% fine gold.
