This powerful symbol depicts a majestic eagle perched upon a cactus while clutching a snake in its beak, surrounded by the inscription of the nation's formal name. The reverse features a detailed representation of an ancient Olmec colossal stone head, turned slightly to the right. This design honors the Olmec civilization, often regarded as the mother culture of Mesoamerica.
