1984 Isle of Man 1/10 oz Gold Proof Angel PF-70 NGC
In 1984, a new numismatic tradition began with the release of the very first Gold Angel coin from the Isle of Man. Backed by the island's government, this inaugural issue carries a face value of 1/10 Angel and contains one-tenth of an ounce of 22-karat (0.9167 fine) gold. Struck by the Pobjoy Mint located in England, the coin is part of a limited production of only 20,000 pieces. The design of this gold piece showcases a dramatic battle on its reverse, where St. Michael the Archangel is depicted slaying a dragon. This side of the coin also displays the essential specifications, including the weight, the denomination, and the purity of the precious metal. On the obverse, the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is paired with the landmark 1984 year of issue, marking the beginning of a celebrated modern series.
