1989-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU
The 1989 Denver Mint Kennedy half dollar stands as a remarkable example of modern American coinage. Struck in a brilliant uncirculated finish, this fifty-cent piece showcases a multi-layered composition, featuring an outer layer of copper combined with nickel, all bonded securely to a core of pure copper. The front of the coin displays a detailed portrait of President John F. Kennedy, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. This side also bears the familiar inscription of national faith, "IN GOD WE TRUST," alongside the 1989 date. The Denver mint mark, indicated by a small "D," is also present on this face. On the reverse, the artistry of Frank Gasparro is featured through a powerful heraldic eagle. The eagle holds both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. This side is inscribed with the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" as well as the issuing authority "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR."
