On the obverse, the coin displays a classic depiction of Lady Liberty. This design is adapted from the famous early twentieth-century work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, showing Liberty walking forward with strength, illuminated by the radiating rays of a rising sun. The reverse features a powerful family scene of bald eagles, created by Miley Busiek. In this image, a male eagle flies back to the nest holding an olive branch, where a female and their young await his return.
