1991-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU

0.0000 troy oz 1991 Brilliant Unc

The 1991 Kennedy half dollar represents a continuation of a classic American circulating denomination. Struck at the Denver Mint, this particular issue features the distinctive "D" mint mark on the obverse, indicating its origin. The physical composition of the coin consists of an outer layer of copper and nickel bonded directly to a core of pure copper, a standard for modern United States coinage. On the obverse, a detailed bust of President John F. Kennedy faces left, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. This side also displays the prominent inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" split across the lower field. The reverse, designed by Frank Gasparro, depicts a formal heraldic eagle clutching both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. The eagle is surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR," alongside the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
