1991-D Korean War $1 Silver Commem BU (w/Box & COA)

0.7734 troy oz .900 1991 Brilliant Unc

Struck at the Denver Mint, this 1991 silver dollar marks the thirty-eighth anniversary of the Korean War. Minted in 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. It remains in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp, original details of its complex and symbolic design. The obverse of the coin features a dynamic scene of a soldier advancing up a hill. In the foreground, naval vessels navigate the waters, while a pair of aircraft soar overhead. Legible inscriptions on this side include the word LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the dual dates of 1953 and 1991. On the reverse, the design shifts to a map of the Korean peninsula divided at the thirty-eighth parallel. This geographic representation is accompanied by a traditional yin-yang symbol and the profile of an eagle. The reverse inscriptions clearly display the face value of ONE DOLLAR, the country name UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the classic phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM.
