In 1991, a special silver dollar was minted to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the United Service Organizations, widely known as the USO. Struck at the Denver Mint, this commemorative coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, with a purity of 90 percent. This specific issue is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, offering a clear look at the artistry of its commemorative design. The obverse side, created by Robert Lamb, features a prominent banner bearing the letters USO. This central element is accompanied by inscriptions celebrating fifty years of service to military personnel. On the reverse, designed by John Mercanti, an eagle is depicted perched atop a globe, symbolizing the global reach of the organization's supportive mission. The reverse also displays the traditional United States motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the face value of ONE DOLLAR.
