In 1993, the United States Mint produced a tenth-ounce gold coin as part of its celebrated American Eagle series. This particular specimen has achieved the highest possible grading tier, certified as a flawless Mint State 70 (MS-70), meaning it possesses no visible imperfections even under close examination. A total of 210,709 of these tenth-ounce coins were minted, each containing exactly 0.1000 troy ounces of gold within a composition of 0.9167 purity. The obverse of the coin showcases a striking representation of Lady Liberty. She is depicted walking forward, illuminated by the radiant rays of a rising sun. This side of the coin also bears the classic American motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." On the reverse, the design shifts to a powerful natural scene featuring a family of bald eagles. A male eagle is captured mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and their young await. This side features the traditional inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the face value of "5 DOLLARS," alongside details of its weight and gold content.
