Introduced as part of a classic series running from 1986 to 2021, the 1993 American Silver Eagle showcases some of the most celebrated artistry in United States coinage. This dollar coin contains exactly one troy ounce of fine silver, backed and guaranteed by the U.S. government. Over time, these pieces may develop unique natural toning or oxidation, giving each surviving specimen its own distinct visual character. The front of the coin features a graceful depiction of Lady Liberty moving toward a rising sun over a mountain ridge. This elegant illustration, created by Adolph A. Weinman, is based on the famous 1916 Walking Liberty design. Legible inscriptions on this side include the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST alongside the date 1993. On the reverse, designed by John Mercanti, a heraldic eagle stands proudly beneath a cluster of thirteen small stars that represent the original American colonies. Echoing the Great Seal of the United States, the eagle holds a banner inscribed with PLURIBUS UNUM in its beak, while clutching an olive branch in its right talon and a bundle of arrows in its left. The surrounding text confirms the nation of origin, the weight, and the face value of the coin.
