Legible inscriptions on this side include the word LIBERTY alongside the commemoration of the Capitol bicentennial, with the S mint mark signifying its origin in San Francisco. On the reverse, the design shifts from the exterior architecture to the interior artistry of the building. It features a detailed motif adapted from a stained glass window located within the House and Senate areas of the Capitol.
