1995 Australia 1 oz Silver Kookaburra BU (spotted)
1995 Australia 1 oz Silver Kookaburra BU (spotted)
The 1995 installment of Australia's beloved bullion series highlights the country's distinct wildlife, struck in one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver. This particular specimen, preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, displays natural surface spotting and toning, giving each affected piece a unique visual character that tells its own story of metal preservation over the decades. On the reverse, designed by Tony Dean, a single kookaburra rests quietly on a branch of a native gum tree. The detailed feathers of the bird and the texture of the foliage are framed by inscriptions denoting the year 1995, the weight of one ounce, and the high purity of the silver. The Perth Mint produced a total of 154,247 of these coins. The obverse features the classic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Surrounding the royal likeness are the inscriptions indicating the monarch's name, the nation of origin, and the face value of one dollar.
