The Chinese Silver Panda series, which began in 1983, has captured the attention of world coin enthusiasts due to its annually changing reverse designs. The only exception to this yearly design update occurred in 2002, which repeated the previous year's motif. This 1995 issue represents a classic era in the series, struck during a year when only 98,000 of these specific coins were minted. Unlike many world coins, those produced by Chinese mints, including facilities in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang, do not carry mint marks to identify their origin. On the reverse of this 1995 issue, a single panda is depicted nestled in the branches of a tree while grasping a bamboo limb. This side also displays the face value of 10 Yuan alongside the weight and purity inscriptions of 1 oz and 0.999 fine silver. The People's Bank of China guarantees the metal content and authenticity of this issue. The obverse features a detailed rendering of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, located within Beijing's historic Temple of Heaven complex. Encircling the top of the design is the Chinese inscription for the People's Republic of China, balanced by the clear calendar year of 1995 at the bottom.
