1997 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle MS-69 NGC
The 1997 American Gold Eagle represents a stunning fusion of historical and modern American coin design. Struck from a gold alloy containing a quarter ounce of pure gold, this ten-dollar coin has been certified in an exceptional Mint State 69 condition, indicating its near-flawless preservation and striking quality. On the obverse, the coin displays a celebrated design adapted from the historic Gold Double Eagle by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Lady Liberty is depicted walking forward, bathed in the rays of a rising sun. This side also bears the date of 1997, marking its place in the modern era of United States coinage. The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, presents a detailed family scene of America's national bird. A male bald eagle is captured mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and her young wait. The reverse also includes traditional inscriptions such as "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM," alongside the denomination and the metal weight specifications.
